Responsibilities:

Food Delivery: 

  • Promptly deliver food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate table or designated area in the restaurant, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained.

Beverage Service:

  • Assist in delivering beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, to customers' tables, adhering to service protocols and safety guidelines.

Table Maintenance: 

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, including clearing dirty dishes, resetting tables with clean utensils and tableware, and ensuring condiments and other essentials are adequately stocked.

Customer Assistance:

  • Respond to customer requests promptly and courteously, such as providing additional utensils, napkins, or condiments, and assisting with special requests or inquiries.

Collaboration with Servers:

  • Work closely with servers and other restaurant staff to ensure efficient communication and coordination, facilitating smooth service flow and minimizing wait times.

Quality Assurance: 

  • Conduct visual inspections of food and beverage orders before delivery to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to presentation standards.

Team Support:

  • Assist kitchen and bar staff as needed, including running food or drink orders, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in work areas to support overall restaurant operations.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, including proper handling of hot dishes, safe food handling practices, and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications:

Attention to Detail:

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy in food and beverage orders, table setups, and customer requests.

Physical Stamina:

  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying trays or plates of food, and manoeuvring through crowded or tight spaces in a fast-paced environment.

Team Player: 

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a positive working atmosphere.

Customer Service Skills: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor when interacting with customers and coworkers.

Adaptability:

  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, multitask effectively, and adapt to changing priorities or demands during busy service periods.

Reliability:

  • Punctuality and consistent attendance are essential to ensure reliable support during scheduled shifts.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is beneficial but not always required; on-the-job training may be provided.

A Runner plays a pivotal role in the overall dining experience, contributing to efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction by ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen and dining area.
